Property: Youth Kills Grandparents For Property In Baran, Arrested | Jaipur News

Kota: Solving the murder mystery of an octogenarian couple, whose bodies were recovered from their house in Mandola village in Baran four days ago, Baran city police on Monday arrested the deceased couple’s 19-year-old maternal grandson, who confessed to killing them for their property.
Police said the accused, Devendra Rathore (19) of Simliya area in Kota district, participated in all funeral rituals with his widow mother, the eldest daughter of the deceased couple. On Saturday, after the 3rd day ritual, he returned with his mother to their rented accomodation in Ranpur area of Kota city, from where he was arrested.
The elderly couple, Ramkalyan Rathore (85) and Laturibai (80), were found murdered in their house on Thursday. On the report by their son, police registered a case of murder against an unidentified person. Following this, Baran SP Rajkumar Chaudhary formed a team comprising cyber experts, under the supervision of ASP Jenendra Kumar Jain to probe the case.
On the basis of technical and scientific investigation, Devendra was arrested early Monday morning from Ranpur area in Kota city, said the Baran SP. The accused confessed to the murder of his maternal grandparents for money and share in an agricultural land, he said.
The accused youth was fond of an expensive lifestyle without having a source of income and after the death of his father, he had been mounting pressure over his maternal grandparents to give their eldest daughter’s share of property, which the maternal grandparents had declined and asked them not to visit their house, he said.
According to police, on Wednesday night the accused reached his grandparents’ house at night and stayed at their house. When the old couple fell asleep, he attacked them with a weapon which is yet to be recovered.
